Under The Pyramid


UNDER THE PYRAMID is an adventure thriller by award winning director Axel Petersén who debuted with AVALON. The new film stars Stine Fischer Christensen, David Dastmalchian, Reine Brynolfsson and Johan Rabaeus. It was shot in Sweden, Egypt and Tel Aviv.

UNDER THE PYRAMID is produced by Erika Wasserman (The Quiet Roar, 2014, Avalon, 2012, Burrowing, 2009) and production company Idyll, in co-production with Film i Väst and Family Affair Films with support from the Swedish Film Institute and the Netherlands Film Fund.

The Quiet Roar

The Quiet Roar received a Guldbagge for Best Sound in 2015 and was nominated for Best Cinematography and Best Music. It is also nominated for Best Music in the European music composer contest Grand Scores.


Idyll is a film production company based in Stockholm, Sweden founded in 2009 by Erika Wasserman and Henrik Hellström. Idyll produces awardwinning feature films. Idyll is most recently behind the film UNDER THE PYRAMID which was shot in Egypt, Tel Aviv and Sweden in 2014 and directed by Axel Petersén. Theatrical release spring 2016. Idyll also produced the same directors first film AVALON, which was awarded with the Fipresci in Toronto 2011 for Best Feature Debut and was in Berlinale Forum 2012. It received two Guldbagge (National Swedish Awards 2013 for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor). THE QUIET ROAR premiered at the Rotterdam film festival 2014 and won the Sven Nykvist Award for Best Cinematography in Gothenburg and Best Cinematography att Black Nights Festival. The same director’s first feature MAN TÄNKER SITT premiered in Berlinale 2009. The American co-production BLUEBIRD premiered in Tribeca 2013 and won several awards in Karlovy Vary.
